This guide explains how to stop a Phantom that’s currently running, how to pause scheduled automations, and why LinkedIn messages might still be delivered after a Phantom is stopped.
Stop a running Phantom
If a Phantom is running right now, you can stop it immediately:
- Go to your PhantomBuster Dashboard.
- Locate your Phantom and click on it to open its console page.
- Click the Stop button to halt the execution.
This only stops the current launch. If the Phantom is scheduled to run again, it will continue unless paused or unscheduled.
Pause a scheduled Phantom
To prevent a Phantom from launching automatically in the future:
- Go to your PhantomBuster Dashboard.
- Locate your Phantom.
- Click the ON/OFF toggle below its name to turn off the schedule.
This pauses recurring launches, but the Phantom will remain available for manual use. This applies to all Phantoms, even those that perform multiple actions within a single automation.
Why LinkedIn messages may still send after stopping
If you used the LinkedIn Auto Connect Phantom with a message and are still seeing messages go out after stopping or deleting the Phantom, this is expected behavior.
LinkedIn only sends your message when the recipient accepts the connection request, not when the request was originally sent.
This means:
- The Phantom is not running again.
- You're seeing delayed messages from past connection requests.
- Messages may be sent days or even weeks later, depending on when people accept.
Example:
You used the Phantom two weeks ago. A user accepts your request today. The message you attached is now sent, even though the Phantom hasn’t launched recently.
This behavior is fully controlled by LinkedIn and cannot be stopped from PhantomBuster once the request is sent.
