If your Instagram Follower Collector or Instagram Followers Auto Follow Phantom returns an "Error loading followers" message, the Phantom connected successfully to Instagram but couldn't load the followers list for the target profile. This is usually caused by Instagram rate-limiting your account, too many profiles being processed per launch, or a temporary instability on Instagram's side.
Why this happens
Unlike the "Error opening page" error, which means the Phantom couldn't reach the profile at all, "Error loading followers" means the profile was opened successfully, but Instagram blocked or interrupted the step of loading the followers list.
Common causes:
- Rate limiting: Instagram is temporarily throttling your account due to too many requests in a short period.
- Too many profiles per launch: Processing too many profiles at once exceeds Instagram's activity limits.
- Temporary instability on Instagram's side: Instagram occasionally restricts certain actions without warning.
What to do
-
Wait and relaunch:
Wait a few minutes and relaunch the Phantom. Temporary rate limits on Instagram's side often clear up quickly. -
Reduce the number of profiles per launch:
In the Behavior step, lower the number of profiles processed per launch. If the error recurs frequently, try setting it to 1 profile per launch. -
Leave "Number of followers per profile" empty:
Setting a fixed number can trigger errors because Instagram's limits vary. Leaving the field empty lets the Phantom collect as many followers as Instagram allows per run. -
Space out your launches:
Schedule runs during working hours with at least 1 hour between each launch. This mimics natural usage patterns and reduces the risk of triggering Instagram's rate limits. -
Pause all Instagram automations:
If over-automation is the cause, pausing all Instagram Phantoms for 24–48 hours lets Instagram's limits reset before you resume.
