If you see a 'No proxy configuration' message when running a Pages Jaunes or Yellow Pages Phantom, this guide explains what's causing it and how to fix it. Because these platforms restrict access based on geographic location, a proxy is required for the Phantom to load business listings correctly, and the location of that proxy matters depending on which platform you're scraping.
Why you're seeing this
Your automation may show this message:
- "No proxy configuration"
- “Proxy usage is recommended for Pages Jaunes Phantoms”
Pages Jaunes and Yellow Pages both restrict access based on location. Since PhantomBuster's servers run from multiple regions, a proxy is required to ensure the Phantom loads business listings correctly. Without one, the Phantom won't retrieve results.
How to fix it
The location required depends on which Phantom you're using:
- Pages Jaunes (pagesjaunes.fr): requires a France-based proxy
- Yellow Pages (yellowpages.com): requires a US-based proxy
Follow these steps to configure your proxy:
- From your PhantomBuster dashboard, open the Phantom's setup.
- Open Advanced settings.
- Navigate to the Proxies tab.
- Select PhantomBuster Proxy and enable Maintain the same fixed IP as long as it's available.
- Open the Proxy Location dropdown and choose a location matching the required region for your Phantom.
- Save your setup and relaunch the Phantom.
If you can't find a suitable location using PhantomBuster's built-in proxy, consider using an external proxy service instead.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a proxy for every Pages Jaunes or Yellow Pages Phantom?
Yes. Both platforms block requests from servers outside their target region. PhantomBuster's servers run from multiple locations, so a correctly configured proxy is required every time you run these Phantoms.
Which proxy location do I need?
It depends on the platform: Pages Jaunes (pagesjaunes.fr) requires a France-based proxy, and Yellow Pages (yellowpages.com) requires a US-based proxy.
Can I use my own proxy instead of PhantomBuster's built-in one?
Yes. If PhantomBuster's built-in proxy doesn't offer the location you need, you can configure an external proxy service in the Proxies tab under Advanced settings. See How to use a proxy with PhantomBuster for setup instructions.
What if I've added a proxy but still see the error?
Double-check that the proxy location matches the platform's required region, and that the "Maintain the same fixed IP" option is enabled. If the error persists, contact our Customer Care team and include the Phantom name and a screenshot of your proxy configuration.
If the error keeps showing up
If you've set up a proxy and still see the error, get in touch with our Customer Care Team.
If possible, include:
- The name of the Phantom where you saw the error.
- A screenshot of your proxy configuration in Advanced settings.
