These errors mean your LinkedIn account either has no Sales Navigator subscription, or has one that hasn't been fully set up - the Phantom pauses automatically until the issue is resolved on LinkedIn's side.
Why you're seeing this
PhantomBuster's Sales Navigator Phantoms require an active, fully configured Sales Navigator account. When the Phantom launches, it checks for this. If it finds an issue, it stops and shows one of two errors:
- "You don't have a Sales Navigator account. Please upgrade your plan to begin extraction." - the LinkedIn account connected to PhantomBuster has no Sales Navigator subscription.
- "Sales Navigator account not set up" - the account has a Sales Navigator subscription, but LinkedIn's onboarding hasn't been completed yet.
Both errors fully pause the Phantom. No data is processed until the issue is fixed.
How to fix it
"You don't have a Sales Navigator account"
Your connected LinkedIn account is on a Basic (free) plan or a plan without Sales Navigator access.
- Upgrade your LinkedIn account to a Sales Navigator plan via LinkedIn's pricing page.
- Or connect a different LinkedIn account that already has Sales Navigator - see How to Connect Your LinkedIn Account to PhantomBuster.
- Once the account is updated or switched, relaunch the Phantom.
If your Phantom is showing a generic disconnection error rather than this exact message, your account may still lack Sales Navigator access. Reconnect your account and check that the connected LinkedIn account has an active plan.
"Sales Navigator account not set up"
Your account has a Sales Navigator subscription, but LinkedIn's onboarding (terms of service, profile setup, team selection) hasn't been completed. When the Phantom launches, LinkedIn shows an onboarding or welcome screen instead of the normal Sales Navigator home - and the Phantom exits when it encounters that screen.
- Open linkedin.com/sales in your browser, logged in with the account connected to PhantomBuster.
- Follow any prompts LinkedIn shows - accept terms, complete your profile, select a team - until you reach the Sales Navigator home page and can browse normally.
- Go back to PhantomBuster and relaunch the Phantom.
Frequently asked questions
Which Phantoms can trigger these errors?
Any Phantom that uses a Sales Navigator session - including Sales Navigator Search Export, Sales Navigator Profile Scraper, Sales Navigator Message Sender, Sales Navigator Auto Connect, Sales Navigator Search to Lead Outreach, and LinkedIn Search Phantoms that accept Sales Navigator URLs as input.
What's the difference between "no account" and "not set up"?
"No account" means the LinkedIn subscription doesn't include Sales Navigator at all. "Not set up" means you have Sales Navigator but haven't finished LinkedIn's onboarding. The fix is different for each - upgrading your plan vs. completing setup.
Do I need a separate Sales Navigator account from my regular LinkedIn?
No. Sales Navigator is an add-on to your existing LinkedIn account, not a separate one. You upgrade the same account and access Sales Navigator through the same login.
My Phantom isn't showing either of these exact messages - what's happening?
A missing or inaccessible Sales Navigator account can sometimes surface as a generic session disconnection error instead. If you've ruled out a session issue, check that the connected LinkedIn account has an active Sales Navigator plan.
Once I fix it, do I need to reconnect PhantomBuster?
Not for a "not set up" fix - just complete onboarding on LinkedIn and relaunch. If you're switching to a different LinkedIn account, you'll need to reconnect it in PhantomBuster first.
