If your Phantom stops with the "Action Required: LinkedIn UI Blocking Phantom" warning, it means LinkedIn has shown a new on-screen element - such as a consent page, popup, or prompt - that blocks automated actions. Your Phantom detects this and pauses safely, without clicking anything on your behalf. To fix it, log in to LinkedIn manually, clear the prompt yourself, then relaunch your Phantom.
What this error means
LinkedIn occasionally introduces new interface elements - consent pages, popups, or prompts - that appear when you log in. These sit on top of the normal LinkedIn interface and block your Phantom from interacting with the page as usual.
When your Phantom encounters one, it doesn't try to click through or dismiss it. Instead it stops and shows this warning:
Action Required: LinkedIn UI Blocking Phantom. The Phantom is currently paused due to LinkedIn UI modifications. Ensure your LinkedIn account is free from blocking elements.
Your Phantom is correctly set up and your account is connected - the run is paused only because of the element LinkedIn is displaying.
Why PhantomBuster doesn't clear the prompt for you
Many of these prompts ask you to make a personal choice - for example, how LinkedIn may use your data for personalized advertising. PhantomBuster will not make that choice for you. Those decisions are yours, so your Phantom detects the element and exits cleanly, leaving you in control.
How to fix it
- Open LinkedIn (or Sales Navigator) manually in your browser, using the same account connected to your Phantom.
- Complete or dismiss whatever prompt LinkedIn is showing - for example, accept or decline the consent page, or close the popup - until you reach your normal LinkedIn home feed.
- Return to PhantomBuster and relaunch your Phantom.
Once the blocking element is cleared from your account, your Phantom can resume normally.
Frequently asked questions
Will I lose my results when the Phantom pauses?
No. The Phantom exits cleanly when it detects the blocking element - it doesn't crash.
Does clearing the prompt once fix it permanently?
In most cases, yes. Once you've made your choice on LinkedIn, the prompt typically doesn't reappear. Because these elements are controlled by LinkedIn, we can't guarantee it will never show again - if it does, just repeat the steps above. It won't be caused by your Phantom.
Why doesn't PhantomBuster just click the button for me?
Because these prompts often involve personal choices - like data and advertising preferences - that only you can make. Your Phantom is designed to detect and pause, never to decide on your behalf.
Is this the same as a session disconnection?
No. A disconnection means your LinkedIn session or cookie is no longer valid. This warning means your session works fine, but a LinkedIn interface element is blocking the Phantom. Clearing the element - not reconnecting - is what fixes it.
Which Phantoms can this affect?
Any Phantom that acts on LinkedIn or Sales Navigator can encounter it, since the blocking element appears at the account level when you log in.
