To upgrade or downgrade your PhantomBuster plan, go to Billing in your workspace settings, select the plan you want, and confirm. Upgrades take effect immediately, and you're charged the prorated difference for the remaining days in your cycle. Downgrades depend on your plan: on a monthly plan, your downgrade is scheduled to take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. On an annual plan, your downgrade takes effect immediately and a prorated credit is applied to your upcoming invoices.
What happens when you upgrade
If you move to a higher plan during your current billing cycle:
- Your new plan is applied immediately after you confirm the change.
- Your plan resources (execution time, slots, and credits) become available once the payment is successfully processed.
- You'll be charged only the difference (pro-rata) between your current and new plan, for the remaining days in your billing cycle.
For example:
If you're halfway through the month and switch from Start to Grow, you'll only be charged the price difference for the remaining days in your cycle.
What happens when you downgrade
How a downgrade is applied depends on whether you're on a monthly or annual plan.
If you're on a monthly plan
Your downgrade is scheduled to take effect at the end of your current billing cycle:
- You keep full access to your current plan and its resources until your next billing date.
- On your next billing date, your new plan takes effect and you're charged the price of the new plan.
- No prorated credit is generated, you continue using your current plan until it ends.
While the downgrade is pending, your Billing page confirms your scheduled change with:
- A banner letting you know your plan will switch at the end of your current billing cycle.
- A "Switching in X days" countdown on your selected plan.
- Your next payment date and amount in the payment schedule.
You can cancel the scheduled downgrade anytime before your next billing date, directly from your Billing page. If you cancel, your subscription simply continues on your current plan.
If you're on an annual plan
The change takes effect immediately, whether you're switching to another annual plan or to a monthly plan:
- Your new plan applies right away.
- You'll receive a prorated credit for the unused portion of your annual plan. The credit is automatically applied against your upcoming invoices until it's used up.
In both cases
Your existing automations keep running: nothing is paused or deleted when your plan changes.
Your available resources (execution time, credits) are reduced to match the new plan's limits once it takes effect. If your current setup uses more Phantom slots than the new plan allows, your existing automations stay active, but you won't be able to create new ones until you remove enough to fit within the new limits.

Frequently asked questions
How much will I be charged when upgrading mid-cycle?
You pay only the price difference between your current and new plan, prorated for the remaining days in your billing cycle.
Do I get a refund when downgrading?
It depends on your plan:
- Monthly plan: no credit or refund is generated. You continue using your current plan until the end of your billing cycle, then the new plan takes effect and you're charged the new price.
- Annual plan: you receive a prorated credit for the unused portion of your annual plan. The credit is automatically applied against your upcoming invoices until it's used up.
Can I cancel a scheduled downgrade?
Yes. If you're on a monthly plan and have a downgrade scheduled, you can cancel it from your Billing page anytime before your next billing date. Your subscription will continue on your current plan as if nothing had been scheduled.
Can I change my plan again while a downgrade is pending?
No. While a downgrade is scheduled, you can't switch plans, including upgrading or scheduling a different downgrade, until either the scheduled downgrade applies, or you cancel it from your Billing page.
What if the plan I scheduled isn't available anymore by the time my billing cycle ends?
In rare cases, the plan you selected may no longer be available when your billing cycle ends. If that happens, the scheduled change is not applied, you stay on your current plan, and we'll send you an email letting you know so you can choose another plan if you'd like.
Will I lose my automations if I downgrade?
No. Your existing automations keep running and your data is preserved. Your available resources (execution time, credits) are reduced to match the new plan's limits once it takes effect. If your current setup uses more Phantom slots than the new plan allows, your existing automations stay active, but you won't be able to create new ones until you remove enough to fit within the new limits.
Does changing plans affect my billing date or currency?
No. Your billing cycle date and billing currency stay the same after switching plans. VAT is calculated based on the country listed in your billing details.
Does changing one workspace's plan affect my other Workspaces?
No. Each Workspace has its own independent subscription. Changing the plan for one Workspace doesn't affect the others.
