Have you ever stared at a blank post editor, wondering what to write about on LinkedIn?
You’re not alone.

Even experienced content creators struggle to find topics that truly resonate with their audience.
The good news is — you don’t need to guess anymore.

By listening to what people are already saying about your brand or industry on LinkedIn, you can turn real audience insights into powerful content ideas that drive engagement.

In this playbook, you’ll learn how to extract mentions of your company on LinkedIn, analyze them for patterns and pain points, and turn them into data-backed content inspiration.

Step 1: Search for Mentions of Your Brand on LinkedIn

Start by going to LinkedIn and running a simple search for your company or brand name.

For example, if you search for “PhantomBuster”, you’ll find posts where users have mentioned your product — whether they’re sharing use cases, feedback, or experiences.

Once your search results are displayed, copy the URL of that LinkedIn search.
This will be the input for your automation in the next step.

Step 2: Extract Mentions Using the LinkedIn Search Export Phantom

In your PhantomBuster dashboard:

  1. Go to Solutions → LinkedIn → LinkedIn Search Export.
  2. Switch to Advanced Setup — this step is crucial because you want to scrape posts, not profiles.
  3. Paste the LinkedIn search URL you just copied.
  4. Connect your LinkedIn account.
  5. Under Behavior, define how many posts you want to extract (for example, 100).

You can choose to run this automation once to analyze current mentions, or schedule it daily or weekly to monitor ongoing conversations about your brand.

Click Save, and launch your Phantom.

Step 3: Analyze the Mentions for Insights and Inspiration

Once your Phantom has finished running, download the results and import them into a Google Spreadsheet.

You’ll get data such as:

  • The first and last name of the content poster
  • Their job title and profile URL
  • The full content of their post
  • Engagement metrics (likes, comments, etc.)

Now, start organizing this data to uncover insights:

  • Add a column for “Topic” to categorize what each post is about.
  • Sort the posts by number of likes or comments to see which themes get the most engagement.
  • Highlight recurring pain points or questions your audience mentions — these are gold for content ideas.

This simple analysis helps you identify exactly what your ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) cares about most right now.

Step 4: Turn Insights into Content That Performs

Now that you know what topics your audience is already discussing, it’s time to create.

Use those real conversations as the foundation for:

  • Thought leadership posts addressing common challenges
  • Case studies responding to specific feedback
  • Product updates tied to the themes people engage with most

By building your content around what your audience is already talking about, you shift from guessing to responding — from broadcasting to engaging.
