→ See the full breakdown of all output fields in the detailed section below.
Before you start
-
Decide how you want to withdraw invitations:
- Bulk clean-up: Withdraw a batch of your oldest pending invitations automatically.
- Targeted withdrawal: Provide a list of specific profile URLs to only remove invitations sent to those people.
-
Limitation:
- This Phantom only withdraws pending invitations you’ve sent to other people.
- It does not withdraw page follower invitations.
- Awareness of LinkedIn’s safety limits:
- It’s not recommended to withdraw more than 50 invitations per launch.
Withdrawing old or unanswered invites helps you avoid account restrictions and makes room for new, relevant connections.
Step 1: Choose how many invitations to withdraw
Configure how the Phantom should handle your pending invitations:
-
Number of requests to keep (default: 1000)
- By default, the Phantom will leave your most recent 1000 invitations untouched.
- If you want to withdraw all pending invitations, set this value to 0.
-
Number of invitations to withdraw per launch (default: 10)
- If left empty, the Phantom withdraws 10 per run.
- You can increase this number, but do not exceed 50 per launch to stay safe.
- Example: If you have 300 old invitations, set the Phantom to withdraw 30 per run and schedule 10 launches over several days.
-
Optional: Use a list of profile URLs
- By default, the Phantom withdraws invitations all at once, without targeting specific people.
- If you’d like more control, you can provide a list of profile URLs to only withdraw invitations sent to those profiles (from My Lists, a Google Sheet, a CSV file, or another Phantom’s results).
- In this case, the Phantom will only remove pending invitations to the profiles in your input file.
Keep in mind: if you use this option, other pending invitations in your Invitation Manager will remain untouched.
Step 2: Connect your LinkedIn account
To let the Phantom act on your behalf:
- Install the PhantomBuster browser extension and connect your LinkedIn session in one click.
- If you’re not using Chrome or Firefox, you can retrieve your session cookie manually (see our cookie guide).
Check your browser user agent
Make sure your browser is up to date before connecting your account.
→ If your Chrome or Firefox version is outdated, your session cookie may expire much more quickly, and you’ll need to reconnect often.
Step 3: Select launch frequency
Choose how often the Phantom should run:
- Launch manually: Start the Phantom yourself whenever you need.
- Launch once at a specific time: schedule a one-time run at a set date and time.
- Launch repeatedly: schedule regular runs (e.g. once per day, several times during working hours).
- Launch after another Phantom: chain automations together so this Phantom starts right after another finishes.
- Advanced scheduling: customize the exact minutes, hours, days, or months when the Phantom should run.
→ For a complete walkthrough of scheduling options, see our guide to scheduling Phantoms automatically.
Step 4 (Optional): Advanced settings
Advanced settings are available if you want to fine-tune how your Phantom runs, but by default they’re already optimized for most use cases.
We recommend leaving them as they are unless a guide specifically instructs you to change something.
→ For a detailed overview of all advanced options (like execution limits, retries, email notifications, proxies, webhooks, and file management), see our Advanced settings guide.
Launch and results
When you’re ready:
- Click Launch to start your Phantom.
- Once it finishes, open the Results tab to see which invitations were withdrawn.
- Download your results as a CSV or JSON file, or view them as a dynamic list on the LinkedIn Leads page.
→ To learn how to export your data to Google Sheets, integrate with other tools, or reuse it in more automations, check our Access and Export your Phantom Results guide.
Export and input limits on the Free plan
If you’re on the Free plan or Free trial, some features are limited:
- CSV exports include only the first 10 rows of results.
- CSV download links (for dynamic viewing in Google Sheets or integrations) are not available.
- JSON exports are not available.
- CSV upload as an input method is not supported.
To unlock all features, you’ll need to upgrade to a paid plan.

Tips and troubleshooting
Common pitfalls
- This Phantom only withdraws pending invitations you’ve sent to others. It does not work for withdrawing page follower invitations.
- Setting the withdraw per launch number too high (>50), which can increase the risk of LinkedIn restrictions.
- Not spacing launches: withdrawing hundreds at once can look suspicious to LinkedIn.
- Forgetting that the Phantom only removes pending invitations. It won’t affect accepted connections.
If you run into issues
- Check how to troubleshoot your phantom using Logs.
- Browse the Fix Issues & Troubleshoot Errors section for solutions to common problems.
- Review our Automation Rate Limits by Platform guide.
- Check our Best Practices for Social Media Automation guide.
Suggested automations
After cleaning up old invitations, you may want to:
- LinkedIn Search to Lead Outreach → find new prospects and send them connection requests with personalized messages.
- LinkedIn New Connection Welcome Message → automatically greet new accepted connections with a personalized first message.
