Phantom

A Phantom is a single automated action designed to achieve a specific task. It takes an input, processes the action or scrapes information, and outputs the result in a file.

💡Here’s how to set up your first Phantom.

Phantom Activity

Phantom Activity refers to the current status of a Phantom or Flow:

  • Enabled: The Phantom is ready and scheduled for future launches but is not currently running.
  • Running: The Phantom is currently performing its task.
  • Paused: The Phantom has been temporarily stopped.
  • In Error: The Phantom encountered an error and was unable to complete its task. Errors could be caused by rate limits, incorrect inputs, or other disruptions.
💡Here’s how to investigate why your Phantom gives error.

Phantom Behavior

Phantom Behavior defines how the Phantom handles data during its tasks. You can adjust settings such as how many results to scrape per launch or how often the Phantom launches. For example, if you’re scraping LinkedIn profiles, you can limit how many profiles it processes each time it runs.

Phantom Chain

Phantom Chain refers to the action of using the output of one Phantom as input for a different one. This creates an automated sequence that saves time and enhances productivity.

Phantom Input

Phantom Input refers to the data or information you provide to a Phantom for it to perform its task. Inputs can vary depending on the type of task and can include a LinkedIn Leads List, a single URL, a publicly accessible Spreadsheet URL, or results from compatible Phantoms.

Phantom Launch Type

Phantom Launch Type refers to how you can schedule and automate the launching of a Phantom. There are several options available:

  • Once: Manual launch for a one-time data extraction.
  • Repeatedly: Set a frequency for launching (e.g., X times per hour, day, or week) to avoid hitting rate limits and manage actions effectively.
  • Repeatedly (advanced): Schedule launches down to the exact minute for precise control.
  • After another Phantom: Launch a Phantom only after another specified Phantom completes its task, creating a seamless workflow.
💡For detailed guidance, check the article on setting up automatic, repeated launches.

Phantom Output

Phantom Output refers to the results generated by a Phantom after completing its task. Outputs are provided in both CSV and JSON formats, which include the scraped or processed data. Additionally, there is an option to copy a link for dynamically importing results into Google Sheets, allowing the data to update automatically with each new launch.
