This guide explains common reasons why a lead might not appear in your LinkedIn Leads page, and how to check or fix the issue.
"Could not be sent to database" error
If you see this message in your Phantom’s launch log, it usually means the LinkedIn profile URL is broken, missing, or no longer valid. These leads will not be saved in your LinkedIn Leads page.
How to confirm the issue
- Log in to your PhantomBuster Dashboard, locate and open your Phantom’s console.
- Go to the Activity tab.
- Hover over the failed run to reveal the View log link, then click it.
- In the log, find the error message and the LinkedIn profile URL it refers to.
- Copy and open the URL shown into a new browser tab.
- If the page redirects to LinkedIn’s homepage or shows a “Page not found” message, the profile is invalid or has been deleted.
Here’s how to access the log from your Phantom’s Activity tab:
What happens to the lead's data
- The lead is not added to the LinkedIn Leads page.
- However, the data is still available in the Phantom’s results file and can be downloaded manually.
How to download the data manually
Even if the profile wasn’t saved to the page, any available data from the Phantom run is still stored in the CSV file.
- In the Phantom’s console page, go to the Results tab.
- Click the Download results button to get the CSV file.
- Open the file in your spreadsheet tool to review the results.
Some automations don't send data to the LinkedIn Leads page
Only Phantoms and Workflows that extract LinkedIn profile URLs can send leads to your LinkedIn Leads page.
If the automation collects other data, like job post links or company pages, it won’t send leads to this page.
Example:
If you use the LinkedIn Search Export to collect job posts, the results will not be saved in the LinkedIn Leads page, because job posts aren’t LinkedIn profiles.
To check which automations are compatible, refer to Use These Compatible Phantoms to Send Leads to your LinkedIn Leads Page.
Why some profile fields are missing or incomplete
If you see a lead in your list but some fields are missing, here’s what may be causing it, and how to fix it:
Missing or incomplete field | Likely reason | How to fix it |
---|---|---|
Previous company | The original Phantom didn’t extract full profile data. | Run the LinkedIn Profile Scraper to enrich the lead. |
Only LinkedIn URL is visible | You used the Profile URL Finder, which only finds the profile link. | Use the LinkedIn Profile Scraper to get full profile details. |
No AI enrichment fields | Not all AI Phantoms are compatible with the Leads page. | Use compatible AI Phantoms like AI LinkedIn Profile Enricher or AI Message Writer. |
How to ensure emails and profile data are added to leads
To make sure your leads include enriched profile information, including: email addresses, job titles, companies, and locations:
-
Use the LinkedIn Profile Scraper (or Sales Navigator Profile Scraper, if applicable).
These Phantoms extract all available data from each LinkedIn profile, including public email addresses and other key details. - Once the data is extracted, it is automatically added to the matching lead in your LinkedIn Leads list.
Run the Profile Scraper after collecting profiles with Phantoms like LinkedIn Search Export or LinkedIn Event Guests Export. This ensures all available fields are filled and your list is ready for enrichment or outreach.
Why you can’t filter by “Created by” or “Last updated by”
In your Filters menu, you can only filter leads by:
-
Processed by: any Phantom that has worked on the lead.
You cannot filter by:
- Created by
- Last updated by
However, these fields are visible inside each lead’s details panel if you need to check manually.
Why your export includes all columns
When you export a lead list to CSV:
- The file will include all available data columns, even ones not shown on the Leads page.
- You can’t choose which fields to include at the time of export.
What you can do:
After downloading the CSV, you can delete or hide any columns you don’t need in your spreadsheet tool.
